Transformation Statement

We, Springfield Convent School, commit to live our vision and mission by continuing to build healthy respectful relationships, a community where the common good grows and is honoured, and individuals can thrive.

Our transformation process is a cyclic one, to be informed by continuous introspection and questioning. We will be conscious and intentional, and it requires of us to be honest, courageous and committed.

Workable transformation will be characterised by the elimination of racism and unfair discrimination, by healing of past hurts, by exploration and appreciation of differences, and by a curriculum that is intellectually engaging and socially challenging, rooted in the diversity of our community.

Implementing this transformation commitment requires us to respond with openness, compassion, and firmness of intent as we move forward together.

We acknowledge the failures of the past, and that we are nowhere near where we need to be. Therefore, a practical plan will continue to be developed, that identifies demonstrable outcomes and timelines, to be regularly reviewed, updated, and amended.

With all of us working together, Springfield will be able to identify itself as a welcoming, diverse, and caring community, where all members are enabled to be happy and emotionally strong, in harmony with its own Catholic ethos and Dominican vision.
